Overview

This programme aims to help meet the increasing demand for advanced clinical practitioners in radiography who can safely undertake expert clinical practice, and inform clinical decision-making across the NHS and the independent (private) sector.

It's been designed to develop your skills in complex reasoning, critical thinking and analysis, and meet the requirements needed to undertake enhanced and advanced clinical practice roles.

Awards and outcomes

Year 1: Postgraduate Certificate in Enhanced Practice (Radiography)

After successfully completing 60 credits and achieving the award learning outcomes, you will be eligible to:

exit with the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Enhanced Practice (Radiography)
continue to Year 2 of Postgraduate Diploma in Enhanced Practice (Radiography)
continue to Year 2 of MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Radiography)

Year 2: Postgraduate Diploma in Enhanced Practice (Radiography)

After successfully completing 120 credits (60 credits per year) and achieving the award learning outcomes, you will be eligible to:

exit with the award of Postgraduate Diploma in Enhanced Practice (Radiography)
continue to Year 3 of MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Radiography)

Year 3: MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Radiography)

After successfully completing 180 credits (60 credits per year) and achieving the award learning outcomes, you will be eligible to:

exit with a Degree of Master in MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Radiography)

Entry requirements

Students must:

hold a BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent) qualification
hold registration as a radiographer with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
have managerial support for their studies, including a commitment that appropriate facilities, relevant clinical experience and time (average 15 hours per week) will be made available to support your studies
have an identified educational supervisor (radiologist or experienced advanced/consultant radiographer) in practice that can support you

English language requirements: If English is not your first language, you must have an IELTS score of 7 with no element below 6.5. This is an HCPC registration requirement to demonstrate English language proficiency, which is crucial to working as a health professional in the UK.

This programme will:

Financial support

Health Education England (HEE) may fund some health courses/modules at the University of Bradford for healthcare staff providing NHS services working within West Yorkshire and Harrogate, against organisational training priorities identified through the organisations training needs analysis. You are therefore advised to contact the SSPRD Signatory within your organisation regarding their organisational training priorities. For those outside West Yorkshire and Harrogate please liaise with your local region HEE office regarding funding opportunities.
