Ahmad Zareie
Biography
Dr Ahmad Zareie joined the University of Bradford in 2025 as
a Lecturer in Computer Science. His research sits at the intersection of
complex systems, online social network analysis, data science, and graph‑based
AI and machine learning.
He earned his PhD at the University of Manchester
(2019–2022), focusing on modelling information diffusion, analysing adversarial
behaviour, and developing methods to counter disinformation and polarisation in
online social networks.
Before joining Bradford, he was a Research Associate at the
University of Sheffield (2023–2025) on the Horizon Europe VIGILANT
project, where he explored how graph‑based techniques can uncover
coordinated campaigns, identify information manipulation, and reveal hidden
network structures.
His current work aims to develop robust, transparent graph‑machine
learning methods to better understand and mitigate the misuse of generative AI
and disinformation in online environments — aligning with broader efforts to
promote trustworthy, socially responsible AI.
