Biography

Bev is a clinical-academic professor within diagnostic radiography. Her joint appointment with The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust focusses on advancing practice and applied health research. Having been at the forefront of radiographer role development for the last 3 decades this role provides an opportunity to utilise contemporary clinical knowledge alongside applied research skills. 

Her background in strategic healthcare leadership has been informed by her appointment as one of the first consultant radiographers and means that her research spans a broad portfolio including service redesign, role utilisation and evidence based practice.

She is a Principal Fellow of Advanced HE, serves on the international advisory board of the Radiography journal and is a peer reviewer of numerous journals and research bodies. She has in excess of 100 peer review publications and has been an invited speaker at many invited international conference.  Bev also currently supervises both MSc and PhD students and is mentor to both clinical and academic healthcare practitioners.

Current research explores the utilisation of cone-beam CT in the redesign of clinical pathways, early evidence in scaphoid fractures. Evidence based techniques in digital radiography including pelvis, knee and foot.
