Biography

Dr Giray Gozgor is an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance and Head of the Wealth, Inclusive Societies and Ethics (WISE) Research Cluster at the School of Management, University of Bradford. He is a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA) and a Research Affiliate of the CESifo Network at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). He was promoted to Professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University in 2020 and has also held visiting scholar positions at Ghent University and the University of California, Irvine.

Dr Gozgor is recognised internationally for the quality and impact of his research. He has been listed among Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers and included in the IDEAS/RePEc Economist Rankings, including the Top 1% Authors and Top 200 Young Economists categories. He has also appeared in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists Ranking in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. In the 2025 ranking, he was placed among the top 0.001% of scientists worldwide.

Dr Gozgor serves as Associate Editor for several ABS 3-ranked journals, including the European Journal of Finance and the International Journal of Finance & Economics. He has published more than 190 papers in Web of Science-indexed journals, including leading ABS 4 journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Travel Research and Tourism Management.

He has also contributed to research projects supported by several national science foundations, including those in China, Turkey and the United Kingdom. His research interests include asset pricing, commodity markets, energy economics, sustainable economy and sustainable finance.
