Without intentional practices this can lead to burnout and pressure to be constantly connected and replying more quickly to digital messages. Healthy digital habits at both and individual and team level are key to caring for wellbeing in digital work. This session will help you :

• Learn how being ‘always on’ impacts the body and mind
• Be able to identify signs of overload earlier and take action to introduce downtime
• Create practical solutions to reduce out of hours email, video call exhaustion and digital overload
• Create a healthy balance with technology

• Understand different types of data measurement
• Identify difference in mean between two groups
• Measure associations between two variables
• Create data visualisations

What you will take away from this session/learning outcomes: You will learn basics of statistical concepts and techniques, which will boost your employability.  As you may be aware, there are so many data analytics tools.  For example, you can learn Python or R, but they are all code-based. SPSS on the other hand does not require users to use code, whist gaining understandings of statistical concepts and techniques.   Once you understand those techniques, I would encourage you to further your knowledge using SPSS, SAS, or other code-based tools such as Python and R.

This activity will be especially useful when answering the questions "why do you want to work for this employer" or "is this employer the right organisation for me?". The presenters have had varying experiences in their careers but will show that working within the Retail Industry is not only about working in stores.  They have, between them, a range of exciting experiences to share within the Corporate, Manufacturing and Logistics sides of the Business. The presenters will talk about their career journeys how their degrees have helped them progress and the skills needed for a successful and fulfilling career in this sector. Following their talks there will be the opportunity to ask questions in a panel session.

Details of the session: With climate change and the depletion of resources, the increasing amount of waste, the increasing number of young climate activists and campaigns, upcoming legislation, and increasing consumer awareness, it is only natural for leading universities to incorporate sustainability and circular economy into their research agenda and education curriculum for future design engineers and managers. Designers and managers have a crucial role to play in reducing the environmental impact of products and achieving a resource-efficient circular economy through their design and managerial choices and decisions. However, they are not adequately trained on how to do it. The aim of this workshop is to inspire and educate students to recognise the power of design and management and the impact of their choices ( e.g. selection of materials, selection of connections and product structure, design briefs, companies’ internal and external policies and finding financial incentives) to build a more circular and sustainable world. I aim to achieve this not only through existing theoretical knowledge but also through a very practical and hands-on learning approach (less talk and more action!).

What you will take away from this session/learning outcomes: Students will learn the concepts of Circular Product Design, Circular Business Models and Circular Value Chains from a theoretical and practical perspective. Nowadays, every company or institution has an environmental office and implementing sustainability and circular economy has become a top priority in organisations' agendas. Details of the session: With climate change and the depletion of resources, the increasing amount of waste, the increasing number of young climate activists and campaigns, upcoming legislation, and increasing consumer awareness, it is only natural for leading universities to incorporate sustainability and circular economy into their research agenda and education curriculum for future design engineers and managers. Designers and managers have a crucial role to play in reducing the environmental impact of products and achieving a resource-efficient circular economy through their design and managerial choices and decisions. However, they are not adequately trained on how to do it. The aim of this workshop is to inspire and educate students to recognise the power of design and management and the impact of their choices ( e.g. selection of materials, selection of connections and product structure, design briefs, companies’ internal and external policies and finding financial incentives) to build a more circular and sustainable world. I aim to achieve this not only through existing theoretical knowledge but also through a very practical and hands-on learning approach (less talk and more action!).

What you will take away from this session/learning outcomes: Students will learn the concepts of Circular Product Design, Circular Business Models and Circular Value Chains from a theoretical and practical perspective. Nowadays, every company or institution has an environmental office and implementing sustainability and circular economy has become a top priority in organisations' agendas.
